Youth Marine and Wildlife Camp 2013 // Bacolod! ♡

This is what I've done from April 21-28 2013.

April 21
Arielle, Me, Kayla, and Enzo
I met Enzo, Arielle, Kayla, and their parents at the airport. Then we flew to Bacolod ✈. When we got there, we went to mass, ate at Bob's and then stayed at the Sian's house for the night.

April 22

On the way to Danjugan
We had to wake up at 4 am so we could take a shower, eat breakfast, and go to the meeting place. The trip to the island took about 3 hours. Danjugan is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to! When we got there we had an orientation then we went snorkeling. After dinner, we learned about different kinds of birds you can find on the island. We slept in cabanas, inside mosquito nets.

April 23
Watchin' the sunset
We woke up at about 5 am so we could go bird watching, we went around the island and we found a variety of birds. After breakfast we learned about different kinds of corals, what they are, and what's the current state of the corals today. Then we went snorkeling to see the corals. One of the staffers, Manong Kalayo, was selling bracelets, anklets, and necklaces. So Arielle, Kayla, Nacho and I went to him to buy some of them. While we were there, we learned a lot about wisdom In the afternoon we had a dance workshop, we had "inner dancing" where you dance inside yourself. (yup, you dance inside yourself.) After that we went to Tabon beach and watched the sunset. Then we had lullabies then we slept.

April 24
Snorkeling with Arielle
We had a lecture on the types of fishes in Danjugan and then we went snorkeling to look for and identify the fishes. Then we had another dance workshop, where we had to keep dancing until the music stopped and we had to connect with someone else. Also, we had to mirror the moves of our partner. Then we had shower time, then dinner. Following that, we had a lecture on bats. They also brought bats so we could see what they look like up close, I got to hold one! Then it was time to sleep.

April 25 / KAYLA'S BIRTHDAY
The enlightened ones
First thing in the morning, Arielle, Kayla, Panini, and I went down to see if anyone was up yet. Manong Jay was about to go to the bat cave and he asked if we wanted to go with him, so we did! It wasn't a really big cave, but Batman said there we about a million bats inside. After we've had breakfast, they taught us what to do when someone has broken or fractured bones and how to make a splinter. In the afternoon, we had the amazing race. The tasks we needed to do were segregate, fish ID, dance the Danjugan dance, do burpies, build a sandcastle find the eggs, fill the bucket with water, make a grabat, and kayak. It was so tiring, but it was super fun! We went to Tabon beach and watched the sunset one last time. After that we watched a video about mother earth that made everyone guilty of hurting mother earth, we put our letters for her on small boats and let them float into the sea. Talent night came after that in which our group imitated the staffers. To end the day, they made us bring our beds down so we could "sleep" by the shore and to look at the moon.

April 26
At 12 am, most of us were still up talking about life in general. Then we decided to play truth ordur. We also had a riff off and sang a lot of songs! We were supposed to watch the eclipse at 3:30 am, but all of us fell asleep at 3 am.

We woke up at about 6 am then we had breakfast and we had to finish packing. It was the awarding and I got the guitar hero award! (rak on) We wore our camp shirts and then had the camp photos. We left the island at 10 am. We had lunch at Jollibee. Then we arrived at Negros Forest at about 3:30 pm.

That evening, most of us went to Robinsons to watch Iron Man 3 as our first reunion!

April 27
On the 27th, Arielle, Kayla, Enzo and I, along with the Sian's, went to the Sugar Mill. I ATE LOTS OH SUGAR ehehe. We went back home then we bought pasalubong for our friends and family. If ever you decide to go to Bacolod, BUY ME NAPOLEONES PLEASE. I bought mango tarts, piaya, butterscotch and napoleones for my parents! We ate dinner at Chicken House, they have the best (in my opinion) chicken inasal ever. After dinner we went bowling, and it was my first time but I had lots of fun.

April 28
It was our last day in Bacolod, we spent it playing golf (on the Wii), we ate at a Japanese restaurant, and then we visited an old house. After that they brought us to the airport and we had to go back to Manila, and go back to reality.

So yeah, this is basically a summary of what I've been doing!

okay bye
